Bugasong Central School reigns 2014 RSPC Over-all Champs

Fifth over-all championship of the school year.

Bugasong Central School (BCS) received its fifth over-all championship in the field of campus journalism in the recent 2014 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) held on January 11-12, 2014 in Punta Villa Resort, Inc., Arevalo, Iloilo City.

Krisha Cyndy Estoquia, Editor-in-Chief of 'Ang Bagong Sibol', the official school publication grabbed the gold medal in News Writing (Filipino) while Charles Ivon Sealquil, RJ Boyetex Tanael, and Benju Castillon finished second, third and fourth in Photojournalism (Filipino), Editorial Cartooning (English) and News Writing (English) respectively. Anglika Alexie Joting placed tenth in Copyreading and Headline Writing (English).

The school also shined in Radio Broadcasting led by the english team that ended as this years champion and filipino group as third place in Best in Radio Production.

Marc Anrielle Rico and Kate Clarisse Bartolo, technical directors of the radio broadcasting team in english and filipino respectively received thier gold medals when awarded as Best in Technical Application.

Syrell Doanne Nietes and Ma Viktoria Clarisse Bartolo was also awarded as Best Anchors. Nietes finished as third while Bartolo declared as tenth placer.

Other awards received by the school was Best in Scripts (Second in English and Third in Filipino) and Best in Infomercial (Second in English and Third in Filipino).

This is the first time that the school finished in the top five in Best Performing School in RSPC. Pototan Elementary School, SPED-ISEC, Antique SPED Center and Kalibo Pilot Elementary School placed second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.

Division of Antique concluded as First Runner-Up in the over-all standings in the division category next to the Division of Iloilo.

Bugasong Central School produced seven national qualifiers this year.

"It was only a dream, with great determination to get it with the aid of our Almighty God, our prayers was answered after seven years quest in campus journalism", remarked by Mr. Dennis B. Bade, School Paper Adviser of BCS.

The school also grabbed over-all championships this school year in Panulaton 2013: Bigger and Grander in the Name of Writing and Performance (July 2013), Western Visayas Regional Cluster Journalism Writeshop and Golden Pen Awards (August 2013), Cluster III Training and Press Conference (October 2013), and 2013 Division Schools Press Conference (December 2013).
