Secretary Luistro inspires Brigada Eskwela Awardees; DepED Region VI bags 4 Hall of Fame Awards

Brigada Eskwela national awardees filled with mixed emotions in the concluding part of the 2013 Brigada Eskwela Best Implementer National Awarding, November 20, 2013 at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Pasay City when everybody sang Yeng Constantino's hit song as tribute to the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

Mr. John Arnold S. Siena, Officer-In-Charge, Office of the Regional Director led the Western Visayas delegation in the said event.

The region reaped four Hall of Fame awards this year out of the six categories namely: Antonio Bello Elementary School (Small School Category - Elementary), Bugasong Central School (Big School - Elementary), Kalibo Integrated School for Special Education Curriculum (Special School Category - Elementary), and Panit-an National High School (Big School Category - Secondary).

The four schools are from the divisions of Antique, Aklan and Capiz.

Unfortunately, A. Bello ES did not make it to grace the activity because they belong to the most hit by the recent natural disaster.

Other awardees of the region are Tan-awan National High School, Hinigaran Elementary School, and
two others from the division of Kabankalan City.

"Ang pagdiriwang na ito ay atin pong inaalay para sa lahat ng dinaanan ng super typhoon Yolanda," Bro. Armin Luistro, Department of Education (DepED) Secretary final words in his message.

Secretary Luistro also recognized the only participant from Region VIII.

"Kasama po ang lahat ng iba ibang probinsya at regions na naapektuhan ng super typhoon Yolanda, kung maari pong ipaabot sa lahat ng aming kapamilyang DepED sa Region VIII ang aming kalinga, ang aming panalangin,  ang aming patuloy na pagsusuporta hindi po nag-iisa ang Region VIII at lahat ng mga eskwelahan na dinaanan ng Yolanda kami po ay kaisa ninyo," Luistro added.

Bugasong Central School receives Hall of Fame Award in Brigada Eskwela Best Implementer

Hall of Fame.

This was the fruit of the 3-year participation of Bugasong Central School, Division of Antique to the  Regional and National Search for Brigada Eskwela Best Implementers.

Mrs. Consuelo P. Gario, Principal II of the school together with her teachers received the Plaque of Recognition as Champion in Big School category last November 15, 2013 at Kabankalan Cultural and Sports Center, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

The school started participating the national mandatory endeavor of the Department of Education (DepED) since school year 2011-2012 and fortunately grabbed the championship in the region and became a national awardee.

Brigada Eskwela is designed to prepare schools in the country for the June opening every year where different stakeholders of the school share their resources and labors. This year is the 10th year of the noble undertaking of the DepED.

On November 20, 2013 the school will attend the national awarding ceremony in Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Pasay City to receive the same award in the national level.

The group will be headed by Mrs. Corazon Tingson, OIC - Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Mr. Fabian Niebre, Division Brigada Coordinator, Mrs. Consuelo P. Gario, Principal II of Bugasong Central School and Mr. Demosthenes P. Aliste, incumbent Principal II.

"We are very happy to reap the fruit of our labor. I know it is not all about fame and glamors but it is all about the development of our school and our school children," shared by Mr. Demosthenes P. Aliste.
